SLK CEMENT HAS ROBOTIZED PRE-TRIP MEDICAL EXAMINATION OF DRIVERS
Electronic medical examination system for daily examination of drivers going on a trip was installed in the mining facility of 'Sukholozhskcement' (the part of SLK Cement). The main objective of automation is to determine the driver’s readiness to operate a transport vehicle.
The hardware system measures pulse, blood pressure, temperature, appraises psychophysiological state of person and determines absence of alcohol or drug intoxication. According to the readings received, the health care worker decides on allowing employee to operate the transport vehicle.
"Drivers undergo medical examination twice a shift - before going on trip and upon returning", said Oleg Korablev, head of 'Sukholozhskcement' quarry, "The electronic system removes the human factor and reduces time spent on the procedure. Today employees are being adapted to undergo pre- and post-trip medical examinations using electronic system. In addition, data on employees’ psychophysical state are secured in digitized form, which allows monitoring the drivers’ health in dynamics".
The project cost is amounted to 1.8 million rubles. The mining facility was chosen as an experimental site for electronic system introduction. In case of successful testing, other subdivisions will be equipped with similar systems.
"SLK Cement labor protection policy is based on life and health priority principle", said Alexey Odnovol, acting plant manager of 'Sukholozhskcement', "We provide each employee with medical support, which includes annual medical examinations, vouchers for sanatorium-resort therapy, medical insurance (compulsory and supplemental) and vaccination. Such strategy improves overall occupational safety".
