DYCKERHOFF CEMENT IN RUSSIA SHIPS PRODUCTS FOR NEW AIR TERMINAL CONSTRUCTION IN CHELYABINSK

Two Company plants supply cement for cementation of Balandino airport second terminal runway in the city of Chelyabinsk. To date, the enterprises have shipped more than 10 thousand tons of products to the construction site.

Every day, up to 40 bulk cement trucks go on journey the majority thereof are owned by TsemTrans LLC transport company of Dyckerhoff Cement in Russia. Dyckerhoff Korkino Cement (part of Dyckerhoff Cement in Russia) started shipping on April 27. The Company supplies cement of CEM I 42.5N brand for cementation of runway first layer, some kind of concrete raft. The second layer of airfield slabs is made using Portland cement CEM I 42.5N DP produced by Sukholozhskcement plant (part of Dyckerhoff Cement in Russia). The airport in Chelyabinsk was the first large facility where this product was used.
“This brand is produced in accordance with GOST 33174-2014, General-Purpose Highway. Cement. Technical Requirements”, said Roman Stikharev, Quality Assurance manager of Dyckerhoff Cement in Russia, “The standard sets very rigid product requirements on compression strength and bending strength indices in particular, water separation, initial setting, standard consistency, tricalcium aluminate and alkaline oxides content, etc. These characteristics combination ensures optimal cement properties when using for pavement concrete”.
It shall be recalled that airport modernization started after Chelyabinsk’s decision to make bids for SCO and BRIC summits hosting. This is not the first large-scale construction project in Russia dedicated to summit and implemented with Dyckerhoff Cement participation. Last year, an enterprise in Pervomaisky settlement has concluded products supply contract for cultural and business complex construction on Miass River embankment.
