DYCKERHOFF CEMENT RUSSIA CELEBRATES ECOLOGY DAY
On June 05, the personnel of Dyckerhoff Korkino Cement, LLC, took part in waste paper collection to mark the World Environment Day.
350 employees of the plant participated in the event, and 900 kilograms of waste paper were collected within its framework. The organizers had presents for the most active collectors. All the waste paper was handed over to JSC Vtorkom, a partner of Dyckerhoff Korkino Cement, LLC that is engaged in efficient industrial use of recyclable resources.
“Environmental responsibility is part of the company’s corporate culture”, Vitaly Vagner, HSSE Director of Dyckerhoff Cement Russia, explained. “Waste paper collection is one of the many initiatives in this area. And we are happy to see that the employees support the company values and make their contributions to release the burden on the environment”.
Dyckerhoff Cement Russia has traditionally focused on the issues of ecology and public health in its regions of presence. The company’s priority tasks for the near future include mitigation of pollution caused by industrial effluents as well as reduction of power consumption at the production sites.
The waste paper collection event has been held in Dyckerhoff Korkino Cement since 2015. During this period, the employees collected around 12 tons of recyclable materials, which is equivalent to 170 saved trees.
