DYCKERHOFF CEMENT RUSSIA ANNOUNCES REORGANIZATION AND LAUNCHES NEW BRAND SLK CEMENT
One of Russia’s leading cement producers and the industry’s flagship in the Ural Federal District (UrFO) has announced a reorganization in the form of transformation and changing of its name. The reorganization decision was taken at the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of OJSC Sukholozhskcement.
The enterprise will be transformed from an open joint stock company (OJSC) into a limited liability company (LLC), and will be called ‘SLK Cement’. The abbreviation consists of the first letters in the names of the Russian towns, in which Buzzi Unicem Group has its full cycle cement plants – Sukhoi Log and Korkino. The old name, Dyckerhoff, is still the umbrella name for Buzzi Unicem’s assets in Central and Eastern Europe.
The reorganization decision manifests a new milestone in the development of the Russian business that will have its unique name from now on. The company’s own brand emphasizes how important the Russian market is in the plans of the international concern. The project implementation will have several stages. OJSC Sukholozhskcement will be the first to change the name. The enterprise is expected to obtain registration documents at the beginning of December 2019. Until then, OJSC Sukholozhskcement will be working just as before. The old name that many customers, employees and business partners are used to will be preserved in the title of the branch located in Sukhoi-Log, Sverdlovsk Region. The plans are that Dyckerhoff Korkino Cement, LLC will join the company early in 2020.
“We will keep the long-term experience of our enterprises, succession and experience of the previous generation, and will continue to produce superb quality cement”, Andrei Immoreyev, CEO of Dyckerhoff Cement in Russia, said. “The changes in place will mostly cover the areas of strategic development, administrative collaboration within the global structure of Buzzi Unicem. As regards lead times, product quality, pricing policy, all our commitments and agreements will remain unchanged”.
The breakthrough step in the history of Dyckerhoff Cement in Russia – uniting the Russian assets under one brand – is marked by growing production scales and investments as well as by ambitious plans for the future. The production process, customer service quality and techniques, administrative process speed and efficiency as well as the Company’s commitments to the people, environment and the community will be improved under the new brand. SLK Cement as a powerful federal scale industry will represent the global business of Buzzi Unicem in Russia, and will join the country’s top five cement producers thanks to its presence in the territory of two federal districts.
